Koncom apríla vybrala medzinárodná odborná porota do finále 26. ročníka Ceny Oskára Čepana 2021 Luki Essendera (1995), Èv van Hettmer (1987), Ondřeje Houšťavu (1995), Tamaru Kametani (1988) a Viktorii Langer (1988), piatich umelcov a umelkyne s rôznorodými tvorivými prístupmi, trefne reflektujúcimi aktuálne geopolitické a spoločenské otázky, určujúce aké kontexty spoluutvárajú našu realitu.
O ich výbere rozhodla medzinárodná odborná porota v zložení Kathrin Bentele (Kunstverein Rheinlande und Westfalen), Sören Grammel (nezávislý kurátor), Edith Jeřábková (Institute úzkosti, PLATO Ostrava), Margot Norton (New Museum) a Jan Verwoert (Oslo National Academy of the Arts), ktorá vyberala spomedzi 42 prihlásených vizuálnych umelcov a umelkýň do tohto ročníka. O držiteľovi/držiteľke ocenenia rozhodnú 9. decembra v Kunsthalle Bratislava.
A professional international committee selected five finalists for the 26th Oskár Čepan Awards at the end of April – Luki Essender (1995), Èv van Hettmer (1987), Ondřej Houšťava (1995), Tamara Kametani (1988), and Viktorie Langer (1988). The five artists show various creative approaches that directly reflect on current geopolitical and societal questions which determine what contexts co-create our reality.
The committee consisted of Kathrin Bentele (Kunstverein Rheinlande und Westfalen), Sören Grammel (independent curator), Edith Jeřábková (Institute úzkosti, PLATO Ostrava), Margot Norton (New Museum) a Jan Verwoert (Oslo National Academy of the Arts). Together they selected these five artists out of 42 registered visual artists in this year’s awards. The winner will be announced on the 9th of December at Kunsthalle Bratislava.
