Aktuálna výstava Emílie Rigovej, laureátky Ceny Oskára Čepana 2018, si vo “výkladovej galérii” Kunsthalle LAB zámerne preberá formát múzea umenia, paradoxne, ako “expozíciu” obrazov, ktorá zahŕňa kritickú revíziu západných dejín umenia a kultúry. Autorka v nej pracuje s rekonštrukciou kultúrnej histórie, dejinami diaspórnych Rómova a aktualitou vlastného JA, identity mladej ženy – intelektuálky, umelkyne, feministky.
EMÍLIA RIGOVÁ (*1980, Trnava, Slovensko) je vizuálna umelkyňa, ktorá vo svojej tvorbe pracuje primárne s objektom v kontexte inštalácie, performance alebo site-specific intervencie. Využíva možnosti 2D obrazu, ako počítačovú grafiku s východiskami v klasickej maľbe. Obsahovo skúma intersubjektivitu emočného prežívania, modifikovanú špecifikami socio-kultúrneho prostredia. Ťažiskovými témami jej prác sú kultúrne a sociálne stereotypy, alter-ego, rómska identita a psychológia jedinca.
EMÍLIA RIGOVÁ (*1980, Trnava, Slovakia) is a visual artist who uses objects in the context of an installation, a performance, or a site-specific intervention. She uses 2D paintings as computer graphics with references to classical paintings. She examines the intersubjectivity of emotional feeling modified with specifics of the sociocultural environment. The main topics of her works are cultural and social stereotypes, alter ego, Roma identity, and the psychology of an individual.
The current exhibition from Emília Rigová – a laureate of the Oskár Čepan awards in 2018 intentionally takes the format of an art museum, paradoxically as an exposition of paintings that contains a critical revision of the western history of art and culture in our “expository gallery” at the Kunsthalle LAB. The author works with the reconstruction of cultural history, the history of diaspora Roma people and the actuality of her identity, her identity as a young woman – an intellectual, an artist, and a feminist.
