Výstava Zoltána Agócsa Zákulisie obrazového poľa je reflexiou vzťahu diváčky/diváka, obrazu a prostredia (architektonického priestoru). Je úsilím – prostredníctvom média maľby – skúmať možnosti obrazu ako plochy, ktorá odkazuje k priestorovým vzťahom, k stanoveniu pozícií medzi figúrou a pozadím, medzi javiskom a zákulisím.
Na počiatku bol skicár formátu leporela, ktorý autor postupne zapĺňal kresbami. Tie sa stali predlohou k veľkoformátovým plátnam. Leporelo sa zároveň stalo východiskom k výstavnému riešeniu inštalácie. Cyklus je sledom osobných statusov. Odvíja sa od inšpirácie konkrétnymi umeleckými osobnosťami, k subjektívnejším väzbám a vzťahom k rodinným príslušníkom.
Rozhodnutie radiť obrazy do previazaného celku, sledu, vytvára alúziu na filmový pás. Plátna pôsobia ako sekvencie, záblesky situácií, ktoré sa kontinuálne prepájajú, prekrývajú. Nemožno ich ale chápať ako rozvíjanie naratívneho príbehu.
Dôležitou líniou výstavy je architektonické riešenie (architekt: Juraj Gábor). Usporiadanie inštalácie vytvára architektúru v architektúre. Architektonické riešenie výstavy je nielen exponovaním diela, ale aj jeho interpretáciou. Determinuje pozíciu návštevníka/návštevníčky a spôsob, akým sa obraz dáva spoznať. Obraz totiž nemusí byť iba niečím, čo sprostredkuje vnímanie sveta autorom, ale aj tým, čo vymedzuje a zvýznamňuje pozíciu diváka/diváčky pred ním. Tým, čo upozorňuje na priestor, ktorý ho obklopuje.
Zoltána Agócs’s exhibition Backstage of the field of view is a reflection of a relationship between the viewer, paintings, and environment (architectonic space). It’s an effort to examine the properties of paintings via painting as a surface that refers to connections with space, to the specification of placement between figure and background and between the stage and backstage.
In the beginning, there was a sketchbook in a folder format that the author filled with drawings. They later became templates for large format canvases. The folding sketchbook became the starting point of the exhibition’s installation. The cycle is a sequence of personal statuses. It comes from inspiration by specific art personalities and from more subjective relationships with family members.
The decision to place paintings into a connected whole, sequence, creates an illusion of a film strip. Canvases act as sequences, flashes of situations that continuously connect and overlap. They cannot be understood as unfolding a meaningful narrative.
An important level of the exhibition is the architectural solution (architect: Juraj Gábor). The arrangement of the exhibition creates architecture within architecture. The architectural solution of the exhibition is not only exposing the art piece but also its interpretation. It determines the position of a gallery visitor and the way they will get introduced to the paintings. The paintings don’t have to be only something that mediates the artist’s perception of the world but also something that defines and highlights the viewers’ position. Something that points out the surrounding space.
