Východiskovým momentom výstavy Mateja Gavulu sú opadané fragmenty sklomozaikových obkladov fasád Prírodovedeckej fakulty v Bratislave, ktoré sa sochárskou transformáciou - vo forme objektov či miestne-špecifickej inštalácie - dostávajú do výstavného priestoru. Abrazívna spoločnosť je prehlásenie Mateja Gavulu o úlohe a zmysle sochárstva v dnešnej spoločnosti. Vníma ich v súvislostiach so všeobecnými zákonmi prírody, plynutím času a formovaním spoločnosti.
The starting point of Matej Gavula’s exhibition is the fallen glass mosaic tiles from the external decoration of the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Bratislava, which through sculptural transformations make their way into the exhibition space both in the form of objects and a site-specific construction. Abrasive Society is a statement on the role and meaning of sculpture in today’s society, which Matej Gavula views as interconnected with the general laws of nature, the action of time and the construction of society.
