Gabriela Halás je absolventkou Ateliéru maľby III. pod vedením Mgr. art. Martina Špirca, ArtD. a Mgr. art. Rastislava Podhorského na VŠVU, predtým študovala v Ateliéri + - XXI u Prof. Daniela Fischera, akad. mal. a semester strávila v Litve. Vystavuje. Žije. Pohybuje sa v oblasti expandovanej maľby a inštalácie s intermediálnym presahom. Proces tvorby vníma ako dôležitý performatívny rituál. Zaujímajú ju antropologické otázky, rozpoloženie mysle, filozofické uvažovanie, vedecké poznanie, mýty, mystika a mystériá, archetypy, zmeny vnímania skutočnosti, absurdita, balans, paradox, gýč, banalita, umelé prostredia, site specific a mnohé iné. Vo svojej tvorbe prepája zažité a myslené, snaží sa o nachádzanie súvislostí. Maliarska idea, formálne spracovanie a snaha o zážitok zaujímajú v realizáciách Gabriely Halás rovnakú dôležitosť. V roku 2019 bola vybraná medzi finalistov medzinárodnej ceny pre absolventov umeleckých škôl - Start Point Prize, kde reprezentovala Slovensko svojou diplomovou prácou ISTOTA&SAMOVRAŽDA. Okrem výtvarnej tvorby sa posledné obdobie podieľala na činnosti performatívneho kolektívu Marína Abramovič Po Sebe Neupratuje a platformy Stojíme pri kultúre.

Gabriela Halás graduated from the Ateliéru maľby III, led by Mgr. art. Martin Špirec, ArtD. and Mgr. art. Rastislav Podhorský at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Previously she studied at the Ateliér + – XXI with Prof. Daniel Fischer, akad. mal. and spent a semester in Lithuania. She exhibits. She lives. She is active in the area of expanded painting and installation with intermedia overlaps. She perceives the process of creation as an important performative ritual. She is interested in anthropological questions, mindset, philosophical reasoning, scientific knowledge, myths, mystics and mysteries, archetypes, changes in perception of reality, absurdity, balance, paradox, kitsch, banality, artificial environments, site specific and many others. In her work she blends the lived and the thought, trying to find their connections. The painter’s idea, formal workmanship and an effort to convey an experience play the same importance in the work of Gabriela Halás. In 2019 she was selected as the finalist of the International Award for Art School Graduates – Start Point Prize, where she represented Slovakia with her diploma thesis ISTOTA&SAMOVRAŽDA. In addition to visual arts, recently she has been involved in the activities of the performance collective Marína Abramovič Po Sebe Neupratuje and the platform Stojíme pri kultúre.
